The Labrador Retriever is America’s most popular breed. The breed became recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) in 1917. Since then, the breed has soared in popularity due to its gentle, friendly, outgoing nature, its love of the water and eagerness to fetch anything thrown out for it- making it beloved by families and hunters alike. In fact, since 1991, Labrador Retrievers have been the most popular breed in the US. With its incredible versatility to be a couch potato, a commanding presence in the field or duck blind, use its incredible nose at Customs Agencies or provide comfort to those with medical issues, it’s no wonder labs have become so popular.
The AKC recognizes three coat colors for labrador retrievers: black, yellow and chocolate. At Dancing Sky Labradors, we breed the English line of yellow labradors. English labradors are well known for their laid-back temperaments, blocky heads and otter tails. The yellow labrador’s coat colors can range from a fox red to golden yellow to ivory (white); our dogs’ coats are ivory.
We strive to produce puppies that are genetically sound, are intelligent, have a laid back demeanor, fit in well in family life and uphold the breed standard according to the AKC. Our adults are thoroughly health tested to ensure their offspring are not at increased risk for genetic health issues. We put a lot of quality time and love into each one of our puppies- making sure they are as healthy as possible, well socialized and able to adjust happily to their new homes. We take this opportunity to provide other families with their newest family member very seriously and we make sure, to the best of our ability, that each puppy will be well cared for and a good fit for each family before they leave our home.
